WHY UNCOVERING YOUR PERSONAL VALUES COULD CHANGE YOUR LIFE

Values & Purpose

So what do we mean we talk about Values:

  • Axiology is the study of human Values. This study stipulates that each of us has a unique set of values. This hierarchy of values is as unique as our DNA.

  • Our hierarchy of values in order to filter reality and to help automate where our intention, attention, and retention is directed.

  • We have two types of Values. 1. Lower values are Extrinsic - they are a means to an end. Higher values are intrinsic - A value for their own sake.

  • When we work in alignment with our highest values we have the greatest probability of success, by dint of the fact we activate our best neuro-biology, psychology, and physiology.

Common Misconception about Personal Values:

  • Values are not Social norms or social ideals, which are things that allow you to fit into groups.

  • Social Ideals or norms may allow you to be socially accepted but they do not explain your underlying reason or desire.

  • Your highest value is not your "passion". The word passion has been bastardized in the 40 years. Previously Passion (from the Latin Passio) meant to suffer for that which you truly value/ believe in, not the animalistic dopamine fueled passion we talk of today.

  • Our Personal Value Determination process reflects what your life actually demonstrates your value, not what you wished you value, or others tell you should value.

So Why might you be interested in learning what your Personal Values are?

  • If you are searching for direction in life or to discover your purpose.

  • If you are seeking to activate more of your inner genius.

  • If you are frustrated by your self-motivation and are looking to become more productive in your work or life.

  • If you find yourself regularly engaging in destructive behavior patterns, that you are seeking to reduce or stop.

  • If you find yourself suffering from anxiety.

What have we discovered are the benefits of discovering your personal values and acting off this information.

Without a shadow of a doubt understanding our "Hierarchy of Values" has been one of the most life-changing things we have ever done in our lives. We have also watched how it has had a profound effect on our clients. So what changed for us and our clients:

  • A better understanding of ourselves and why we do what we do, want what we need, and behave the way we do.

  • This has given us a greater tolerance for stress and challenge.

  • More productivity in our work.

  • Increased mental balance and a reduction in anxiety.

  • Little to no need for external motivation.

  • A GPS for important decision making

  • Less of a need to subordinate to others or societal Values.
